Volunteer Opportunities
Metcalf Internships
College students gain valuable insight and work experience through summer internships in a variety of fields. You can help by offering an internship at your company or nonprofit organization through the Jeff Metcalf Internship Program. Last year, 595 students applied for 205 internships. Our goal is to have 300 Metcalf interns placed by 2010. Summer Send-Off Parties
Each summer, we organize send-off parties around the country and abroad for incoming students and their parents to meet other new or returning students and families in their local communities. Summer send-off parties are a wonderful opportunity to share your stories about the University of Chicago. If you would like to host a summer send-off party, be a parent greeter, or call to invite incoming parents to attend, please contact Kelly Finn at kellyfinn@uchicago.edu.
Parent and Family Partners (PFP)
The Parent and Family Partners committee focuses on supporting the Parents Fund – annual, unrestricted gifts for student priorities. Members participate in fundraising activities that include welcome calls to first year parents and peer solicitation calls.
